Dr. Troy Melendez is an Academic Success Coach, Counseling faculty member and founder of College Clarity Doctors, LLC. He is also currently employed as Counseling and Psychology faculty at South Mountain Community College. Prior to these positions, he served as Director of Assessment and Strategic Planning for Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS), Director of Staff Recruitment, Selection and Training and Director of Learning Support Services for University Housing at Arizona State University. Prior to ASU, he served as Director of Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Services and as a Senior Staff Psychologist at Northern Illinois University.
Dr. Melendez has over 15 years of experience working with an array of student, faculty and staff groups including culturally diverse populations, student athletes, residential, off-campus and Greek communities, gifted and talented and at-risk students. He has assisted university students and staff in addressing issues of academic integrity, student persistence and success, diversity and equity, risk management, masculinity and assessment and evaluation. His personal background, presentation style, and professional training give him the know-how and ability to connect with participants in a manner that both facilitates education and encourages behavioral change outside of the programming he offers. A dynamic speaker, facilitator and coach, Dr. Melendez is known for leaving a lasting impression on his audiences.
